SkinScanner is a CE IIA MEDICAL DEVICE with EU MDR approval and an FDA pending application. The underlying technology is Dermoscopy-Assisted High-Frequency Ultrasound, which combines surface and depth imaging, making it simple and affordable. The technology is multimodal (providing more information), simultaneous (guided imaging), registered (for better interpretation), uses AI (for automated measurements), and is cloud-ready (for decentralized trials). The SkinScanner is portable, has the highest frequency, high resolution, and allows for single-hand operation.The High-Frequency Ultrasound is optimized for skin imaging in the 15-100MHz range. The specific Imaging Specifications for the ultrasound are:

  • Depth: up to 10 mm

  • Geometric: 2-point distance (thickness, diameter), AI-assisted segmentation (layer differentiation), and volume estimation.
  • Intensity: Point location correlation to surface (projection), comparison for different structures (Hydration trend), and variability for a certain tissue area (Collagenization/vascularization estimation, trend).
  • Doppler: Flow detection (along 1-D line currently), with 2-D Doppler under development.
