What is ANY-maze Video Tracking Software?

ANY-maze is a comprehensive video-based behavioral tracking and analysis platform designed by Stoelting Co. and supplied by Ugo Basile for use with their complete range of maze and behavioral apparatus. Unlike rigid, apparatus-specific software, ANY-maze provides a fully flexible zone-definition interface — researchers draw their own tracking regions directly on a live or recorded video frame, defining open arms, closed arms, center zones, escape holes, and any other behaviorally relevant areas without preset limitations. This flexibility means a single software license supports all maze types simultaneously, from Elevated Plus and Water Mazes to Open Fields, Radial Mazes, and Fear Conditioning chambers.

• Full Animal Body Tracking: ANY-maze tracks not just the animal's center point, but simultaneously resolves the head point, body center, and tail base — enabling nose-point proximity scoring, rearing detection, directed head movements, and posture analysis beyond simple path tracking.
• No Predefined Apparatus Limits: All zone definitions, trigger areas, and analysis regions are drawn directly on the video by the researcher.
