The STG5 Stimulus Generator is a compact, scalable electrical stimulation device combining voltage and current stimulation in a single easy-to-use unit. With an output range up to 16 mA, a fast 5 µs reaction time, and a channel count that scales from 2 to 8, the STG5 is designed for a broad range of electrophysiology applications.
Voltage and Current Stimulation in One Device
The STG5 integrates both voltage and current stimulation modes with no hardware reconfiguration required. Switching between modes is done with a single click in software — keeping your setup flexible and your workflow efficient.
Scalable 2–8 Channel Design
The STG5 system begins with a Base Unit providing 2 stimulation channels. Up to 3 STG5 Satellite Units can be added, each contributing 2 additional channels, for a maximum of 8 fully independent channels. All channels are galvanically isolated from each other, eliminating the need for a separate isolator.
Compact and Stackable
The STG5 is designed with lab space in mind. Its compact footprint fits easily on any bench, and the Base and Satellite Units interlock securely — like building blocks — for a clean, stable multi-unit stack.
Software: MC_Stimulus III
The STG5 is controlled by MC_Stimulus III, an intuitive software package for designing complex stimulation patterns. Patterns can be saved and reused, and switching between voltage and current modes is handled entirely within the software. Synchronized multi-channel stimulation, triggered stimulation in feedback loops, and a 5 µs time resolution are all supported.
