What is the Quantum Bodypack and what does it do?
The Quantum Bodypack is a wearable on-body recorder and streaming hub for MANUS glove data. It is not a body motion capture system itself: it records and transmits hand capture data, which can be exported as solved hand skeletons or virtual markers for integration with optical pipelines.
How much can it record and store?
Onboard storage is 500 GB, equivalent to roughly 8,000 recorded hours. Recording runs at 120 fps with zero data loss.
What networking and triggering does it support?
Wireless is Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, with 1 Gbps Ethernet and three USB 3.2 Type-A ports. Recording can be triggered from Vicon, OptiTrack, Qualisys, Xsens, Rokoko and PeelCapture, and timecode and sync are supported through an external device.
How is it powered and how long does it run?
Power is USB Type-C at 12V/3A (PD 1.0) or 15V/1.8-3.0A (PD 2.0/3.0), with roughly 15 Wh consumption giving about 6 hours of operation.
How much does it weigh?
The Quantum Bodypack weighs 235.2 grams (8.30 ounces) and measures 128.6 mm high, 154.0 mm wide and 128.6 mm deep. For a lighter, streaming-only alternative, the MANUS Bodypack Lite weighs 95 grams. NBT Ltd can advise on which suits your workflow.
