MUX Wire V3 Valve Controller by Elveflow
The MUX Wire V3 is Elveflow's valve controller hub that drives up to 8 Smart Valves independently or simultaneously via Elveflow's ESI software — or manually via the push button on each valve. With internal/external TTL triggers, plug-and-play valve detection, and a status LED per valve, it is the central building block for any multi-valve microfluidic automation setup.

What is the MUX Wire V3 Valve Controller?
The MUX Wire V3 is Elveflow's microfluidic valve controller hub. It works seamlessly with all Elveflow Smart Valves through the same ESI software interface, and is equipped with internal and external trigger connectors for synchronisation with microscopes, OB1 controllers, or any third-party analytical instrument in your setup.
The LED indicator on the controller displays each connected valve's type and live status, making setup, visualisation, and control of complex multi-valve workflows immediate and unambiguous. The MUX Wire can also operate in standalone mode — power it up, plug in valves, and switch them manually using the push button on each valve without any computer.
Key Features
- Controls up to 8 valves: Independently or simultaneously through ESI software.
- Smart Valve auto-detection: ESI automatically detects each valve type as soon as it's plugged in.
- Standalone mode: Switch valves manually via the push button on each valve, no computer required.
- 20 ms switching: All Smart Valves switch in 20 ms or less.
- Per-valve status LED: Instant visual confirmation of valve type and state.
- TTL trigger I/O: Internal/external triggers for synchronising with microscopes, OB1, or any third-party instrument.
Applications
The MUX Wire V3 is the central hub for any multi-valve microfluidic automation workflow. Common applications include:
- Fast medium switching for drug testing.
- On-chip peristaltic pumping.
- Sequential sample injection.
- Cell/particle sample screening.
- Medium perfusion switching for cell biology under flow.
- Diffusion studies and unidirectional recirculation.
- Organ-on-chip workflows.

What is the MUX Wire V3 Valve Controller and what is it used for?
The MUX Wire V3 is Elveflow's valve controller hub that drives up to 8 Smart Valves independently or simultaneously via the ESI software — or manually via the push button on each valve. It is the central piece for any multi-valve microfluidic automation workflow, with auto-detection of valve types, 20 ms switching, and TTL trigger I/O for synchronisation.
What research applications is the MUX Wire V3 suited for?
The MUX Wire V3 is suited for fast medium switching in drug testing, on-chip peristaltic pumping, sequential sample injection, cell or particle screening, perfusion switching for cell biology under flow, diffusion studies, unidirectional recirculation, and organ-on-chip workflows.
What are the key technical features of the MUX Wire V3?
The MUX Wire V3 (catalog: MUX-WIRE-V3) controls up to 8 Elveflow Smart Valves (2/2 NO, 2/2 NC, 3/2 in high-pressure, low-pressure, or low-volume models), with 20 ms switching, ESI auto-detection, per-valve status LED, TTL trigger I/O, and full SDK support (C++, Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB). It also supports standalone manual operation via the push button on each valve.
Is the MUX Wire V3 available in Israel with local support?
Yes. NBT Ltd distributes Elveflow microfluidic products in Israel. Our team provides local support and application guidance for the MUX Wire V3 and the complete Elveflow microfluidic automation ecosystem.
How does the MUX Wire V3 integrate with Elveflow systems?
The MUX Wire V3 plugs directly into the Elveflow ESI software and runs alongside the OB1 pressure controller, with all valve actions sequenced together with pressure profiles. TTL trigger I/O allows synchronisation with microscopes and third-party instruments, and the per-valve push buttons allow standalone fallback control without any computer.
