FAQ
What pressure ranges are available?
Five pressure ranges are available: 1 psi (70 mbar), 2 psi, 15 psi, 50 psi, and 100 psi (7 bar). Choose the range that best fits the operating pressures of your microfluidic system.
Can the MPS measure vacuum/negative pressure?
Yes. The MPS works as a gauge pressure sensor and measures both positive and negative pressure relative to atmospheric pressure.
Can I use the MPS with any solution?
As long as your solution is chemically compatible with polyetherimide, silicon, and fluorosilicone seals, the MPS can be used. Consult the chemical compatibility chart or contact NBT for guidance on specific reagents.
Does the MPS require a controller or sensor reader?
The MPS must be connected to either the MSR Sensor Reader, OB1 flow controller, or Cobalt controller to read data. It is not standalone USB-connected like the BFS.
What is the response time of the MPS?
The settling time is up to 1 ms when using the Sensor Reader with SDK, making it suitable for real-time pressure monitoring and fast feedback control loops.
What are the two MPS versions?
The MPS A is the standard version. The MPS D is a smaller package version with an ultra-compact internal volume of 7.5 µL, useful when space is limited or dead volume must be minimized.
