The four-model range includes a standard incisor-palate adaptor, a mouse/neonatal-rat adaptor with resin ear bars, an integrated gas anesthesia model, and a dedicated neonatal adaptor with an extended 150 × 100 mm base plate.
What are RWD Mouse Adaptors?
RWD Mouse Adaptors are species-specific head fixation accessories that mount to any RWD standard stereotaxic frame to accommodate mice of all sizes - from neonatal pups to adult mice requiring gas anesthesia delivery. Each adaptor provides a different combination of incisor, nose clip, and ear bar fixation points, with adjustable vertical and horizontal ranges to precisely position the skull for any stereotaxic procedure. All adaptors maintain 100 μm vertical resolution for reproducible leveling across experimental sessions.
The gas anesthesia models (68057 and 68030) integrate an anesthetic mask directly into the adaptor, allowing isoflurane delivery throughout surgery without a separate mask setup. The neonatal mouse adaptor (68014) provides an extended base plate and dedicated cheekbone locker for pups too small for conventional ear bar fixation.

Which mouse adaptor model do I need?
There are four. 68055 is the standard incisor and palate adaptor. 68030 covers mice and neonatal rats and comes with resin ear bars. 68057 has an isoflurane inlet built in for gas anesthesia. 68014 is for neonatal pups, with a 150 x 100 mm extended base plate and a cheekbone locker.
Why use an adaptor instead of ear bars on a mouse?
The incisor clamp and palate bar hold the head at three points without entering the ear canals. On a small mouse skull that removes the torque ear bars apply, and the coordinates hold better through a long surgery.
Can I fix neonatal pups this way?
Yes, that is what the 68014 is for. Pups too small for conventional ear bars are held on the extended base plate with the cheekbone locker.
How does the adaptor mount?
It slides into the adaptor plate rail on the frame and replaces the standard ear bar assembly. It fits every RWD stereotaxic frame.
