Kent Scientific’s Endotracheal Intubation Kits give researchers a complete, purpose-built setup for intubating mice and rats — one of the trickiest manual skills in rodent surgery. Each kit ships with an integrated anesthesia mask so isoflurane can be delivered continuously throughout the intubation attempt, plus a fiber-optic light to illuminate the glottis through small endotracheal tubes that slide directly over the light cable.
The kit ships in mouse (ETI-MSE) and rat (ETI-MSR) configurations, and can be used standalone or docked into Kent’s SurgiSuite multi-function surgical platform. Endotracheal intubation in mice and rats is a notoriously difficult skill. The animal is small, the glottis is hard to visualize, and the standard failure mode is loss of anesthesia depth during the attempt — the animal partially recovers, jaw tone returns, and visualization becomes impossible.
