ibidi µ-Slide 32 Well

Thirty-two wells on the 384-well plate pitch, with an integrated #1.5 Polymer or #1.5H Glass coverslip bottom. This is a new release from ibidi, so well volume and growth area are not published yet. Confirm the exact numbers with us before you plan a protocol around them.

ibidi µ-Slide 32 Well

What is the µ-Slide 32 Well?

A chambered coverslip with 32 wells, spaced to the 384-well plate pitch so a multichannel pipette or a plate-format liquid handler moves onto it without adapting anything. The bottom is an integrated coverslip, either #1.5 Polymer or #1.5H Glass, so cells go from seeding straight to imaging with nothing to mount.

ibidi released this slide recently and has not yet published well volume or growth area figures. If your protocol depends on a specific volume per well, ask us before you order and we will confirm the number with ibidi rather than estimate it.

Small wells, standard geometry

The 384-well pitch is the point. Thirty-two wells is a small subset of that geometry, so the slide stays small footprint and low reagent volume while staying compatible with equipment built around the 384-well standard. Each well is ready for immunofluorescence straight in the well, fix, stain and image without transferring anything to a separate coverslip.

Where I would not spend the money

If the assay does not need 384-well spacing, a µ-Slide 18 Well or µ-Slide 8 Well high gives more area and volume per well on a slide footprint, and both have published specifications you can plan a protocol around today. Take the 32 Well when the pitch itself is what you need, not just the well count.

What does the 384-well plate geometry actually buy me?

Compatibility with the hardware built around that pitch. A multichannel pipette or a plate reader set up for 384-well spacing lands on this slide the same way it would on a full plate, even though there are only 32 wells here. If nothing in your workflow is built around that pitch, the geometry itself does nothing for you.

Why doesn't the page list a well volume or growth area?

Because ibidi has not published one yet. This slide is new. We will confirm the number with ibidi before you order if your protocol needs a specific volume, rather than guess and have you find out it was wrong mid experiment.

Polymer or Glass coverslip?

Polymer is the #1.5 ibidi Polymer bottom at 180 µm, and it covers standard widefield and confocal work. Glass is #1.5H at a tighter tolerance, and that is what TIRF, single molecule detection and super-resolution methods need. If you are not running one of those methods, the polymer version is the better value.

ibiTreat or Untreated?

ibiTreat is tissue culture treated for standard adherent cell attachment. Untreated is hydrophobic and needs your own coating. Most cell culture work should start with ibiTreat.

Is it available in Israel with local support?

Yes. NBT is the ibidi distributor in Israel. This slide is new enough that we would rather confirm exact specifications with ibidi before your first order than have you plan around a number we are not sure of.
