What is the EVOM™ Auto?

The EVOM™ Auto is WPI's automated TEER measurement system for high-throughput screening of epithelial and endothelial barrier function in 24- and 96-well HTS plates. From the global leader in TEER technology, it brings the proven EVOM™ measurement principle into a fully automated platform that minimizes human error, reduces contamination risk, and delivers a complete 96-well plate read in under four minutes.

EVOM™ Auto qualitatively measures cell monolayer health and quantitatively measures cell confluence by detecting an increase or plateau in tissue resistance, using a low AC current that is non-destructive to cells and avoids electrode polarization. The system is purpose-built for drug discovery, ADME screening, blood-brain barrier studies, and other workflows that demand reproducible TEER data at HTS scale.

  • Browser-Based Software: Web-based control via touchscreen iPad (included), laptop, or desktop — no OS or security upgrades required.
  • Multi-User Plate Profiles: Save up to three plate coordinate profiles per plate type, each date- and time-stamped, so multiple users share one instrument without overwriting each other's settings.
  • Direct Data Export: All measurements stored on the instrument and exported as CSV for Excel — ready for downstream analysis.
  • GxP-Ready: Optional EVOM™ GxP Compliance Module powered by TotalLab provides 21 CFR Part 11 audit trails for FDA-regulated workflows.

System Components

Each EVOM™ Auto system includes the autosampler, an HTS electrode array (96-well, Corning 24, or Millipore 24, depending on the configuration ordered), the interface unit and cable, and a control iPad with software pre-installed.

Available Electrode Arrays

The same autosampler can be reconfigured for additional plate formats by purchasing extra electrode arrays — EVA-EL-03-01 (96 HTS), EVA-EL-03-02 (Corning 24 HTS), and EVA-EL-03-03 (Millipore 24 HTS). Each array ships with the matching depth-adjustment fixture and plate adapter keys.

Which HTS plate formats are supported?

The system supports Corning 96 HTS, Millipore 96 HTS, MatTek 96 HTS (with the 96 electrode array), Corning 24 HTS (24C array), and Millipore 24 HTS (24M array). Switching plate formats requires swapping the electrode array and matching plate adapter key — no separate instrument needed.

What is the difference between the EVA-MT-03-01, -02, and -03 system part numbers?

EVA-MT-03-01 ships with the 96 HTS electrode array (Corning, Millipore, MatTek). EVA-MT-03-02 ships with the 24C array for Corning 24 HTS plates. EVA-MT-03-03 ships with the 24M array for Millipore 24 HTS plates. Additional electrode arrays can be purchased separately.
