Physiological recordings can be easily contaminated by noise and interference. In most cases, this is due to high contact impedance. It appears as 60 Hz. interference or erratic signals due to any motion of the lead wires. In virtually every case, these troublesome artifacts can be mitigated or completely eliminated by reducing electrode contact impedance with the skin. UFI's Checktrode electrode testers were designed to help accomplish this important task. UFI offers three "time saver" electrode contact impedance checking instruments. The standard unit allows rapid evaluation of contact impedance between two applied electrodes. For multiple electrode configurations, the ES allows rapid, individual evaluation of large electrode arrays, such as EEG caps.
