Humaneway™ Rodent Tail Vein Simulators

Realistic rodent tail vein simulators for practicing injection and blood collection techniques without live animals. Available in mouse (white ICR and black C57BL/6) and rat models, each simulator supports up to 100 uses. Developed with 3D printing and soft tissue technology for true-to-life tactile feedback. Kit includes simulator, 5 infusion sets, and 2 blunt needles.

Humaneway™ Rodent Tail Vein Simulators

What are the Humaneway™ Tail Vein Simulators?

The Humaneway™ Rodent Tail Vein Simulators are cutting-edge training tools designed to provide researchers and laboratory technicians with a highly realistic and humane way to practice and perfect tail vein injection and blood collection techniques — without using live animals. Available in both mouse and rat versions (including albino ICR and black C57BL/6 models), these simulators feature anatomically accurate tail structures with simulated lateral veins.

Each simulator is good for up to 100 uses, offering an unmatched combination of precision and durability. The simulators were developed using 3D printing and soft tissue reproduction technology under academic guidance by Dr. Masaru Kawakami of Yamagata University Faculty of Engineering, ensuring true-to-life tactile feedback during injection and blood withdrawal training.

Key Features

  • Realistic Vein Anatomy: Anatomically accurate lateral tail veins allow true-to-life venipuncture practice with proper needle angle and depth.
  • Dual Training Modes: Practice both tail vein injection and blood collection (using hematocrit capillary tubes) on a single simulator.
  • Up to 100 Uses: Each simulator can be used approximately 100 times, making it a cost-effective and durable training solution.
  • Complete Training Kit: Each kit includes 1 simulator, 5 Humaneway winged infusion sets, and 2 blunt needles for immediate use.
  • 3Rs Compliance: Directly supports the Replacement and Refinement principles by allowing trainees to develop injection competence before working with live animals.
  • Multiple Models Available: Mouse simulators available in white (ICR) and black (C57BL/6) versions; rat simulator also available for larger-scale training.
