The Humaneway™ Rodent Tail Vein Simulators are cutting-edge training tools designed to provide researchers and laboratory technicians with a highly realistic and humane way to practice and perfect tail vein injection and blood collection techniques — without using live animals. Available in both mouse and rat versions (including albino ICR and black C57BL/6 models), these simulators feature anatomically accurate tail structures with simulated lateral veins.
Each simulator is good for up to 100 uses, offering an unmatched combination of precision and durability. The simulators were developed using 3D printing and soft tissue reproduction technology under academic guidance by Dr. Masaru Kawakami of Yamagata University Faculty of Engineering, ensuring true-to-life tactile feedback during injection and blood withdrawal training.

How realistic is the tactile feedback?
Combined 3D-printed bone structures and soft-tissue layers recreate the tactile feedback of locating the vein, the resistance felt on insertion, and the visual cues from successful cannulation. The mouse models are offered in both white and black skin variants because vein visualization differs significantly between ICR and C57BL/6 strains in practice.
Are replacement consumables and matched needles available?
Yes — the included infusion sets and blunt needles are matched to the simulator, and the same Humaneway™ Winged Infusion Sets can be ordered separately as the simulator wears. The standard 25G gauge mirrors what is used in live-animal protocols.
How many uses does each simulator support?
Approximately 100 sessions per simulator under typical training use — enough to bring a cohort of new technicians through the full skill-acquisition curve before the model needs to be replaced.
Is the product available in Israel through NBT?
