EVOM™ Warming Plate
The EVOM™ Warming Plate maintains cell culture well plates at 37°C during TEER measurements, eliminating temperature-induced variability and the need for equilibration. Compatible with 6-, 12-, 24-, and 96-well plates and the EVOM™ Manual meter, it heats from room temperature to 37°C in under 12 minutes with ±0.5°C stability.

What is the EVOM™ Warming Plate?
The EVOM™ Warming Plate is a compact temperature control platform designed to maintain cell culture well plates at physiological temperature (37°C) during transepithelial electrical resistance (TEER) measurements. Developed by World Precision Instruments (WPI) as an accessory for the EVOM™ Manual TEER meter, it eliminates temperature-induced measurement variability and removes the need for room-temperature equilibration before each reading.
TEER is the gold standard non-invasive method for assessing epithelial and endothelial monolayer integrity. Because electrical resistance values are highly sensitive to temperature fluctuations, even minor deviations from 37°C can produce misleading data. The EVOM™ Warming Plate solves this by actively heating the sample plate to incubator temperature and maintaining it there throughout the measurement session — delivering consistent, reproducible results every time.
Key Features
- Rapid Heat-Up: Heats a sample well plate from room temperature to 37°C in under 12 minutes, minimizing preparation time between experiments.
- Precise Temperature Stability: Maintains 37°C with ±0.5°C accuracy and 0.1°C display resolution, ensuring physiological conditions throughout each measurement.
- Universal Well Plate Compatibility: Accepts 6-, 12-, 24-, and 96-well plate formats, covering the full range of standard TEER assay setups including HTS applications with the STX HTS electrode.
- Preset Warming Parameters: Factory-preset warming conditions eliminate guesswork — simply place the plate, power on, and begin measuring when the target temperature is reached.
- Built-In Timer: Integrated timer with up to 6-hour range provides session control and awareness of how long samples have been at temperature.
- Eliminates Equilibration Step: Traditional TEER workflows require removing plates from the incubator and waiting for equilibration before measurement. The Warming Plate bypasses this entirely, saving time and preserving cell integrity.
- Compact Benchtop Footprint: At 17 × 16 × 12 cm and 1.6 kg, it sits cleanly alongside any EVOM™ measurement station without cluttering the workspace.
- Universal Power Supply: Compatible with 100–240 VAC / 50–60 Hz, suitable for any global laboratory environment.

The EVOM™ Warming Plate is used in epithelial and endothelial barrier integrity research where physiological temperature (37°C) is maintained during transepithelial electrical resistance (TEER) measurements. Studies span drug transport across cell monolayers, BBB models, gut epithelium, and organ-on-chip TEER assays.
What is the EVOM™ Warming Plate and why is it needed for TEER measurements?
The EVOM™ Warming Plate maintains cell culture well plates at 37°C during TEER measurements. TEER values are highly temperature-sensitive — even small deviations from physiological temperature produce misleading resistance readings. The Warming Plate eliminates temperature variability and the need for room-temperature equilibration.
Which well plate formats and EVOM™ meters are compatible?
The Warming Plate accepts 6-, 12-, 24-, and 96-well plates. It is designed for use with the EVOM™ Manual TEER meter and STX4 or STX HTS chopstick electrodes.
How long does it take to reach 37°C and how stable is the temperature?
The Warming Plate heats from room temperature to 37°C in under 12 minutes, maintaining stability at ±0.5°C with 0.1°C display resolution.
Is the EVOM™ Warming Plate available in Israel with local support?
Yes. NBT Ltd is the exclusive distributor of WPI products in Israel. Our team provides full local support including installation, application guidance, and ongoing technical assistance for all WPI TEER systems.
Can it be used for organ-on-chip or high-throughput TEER applications?
Yes. The Warming Plate accepts 96-well plates and is compatible with the STX HTS electrode, making it suitable for HTS TEER workflows and organ-on-chip barrier integrity studies requiring stable physiological temperature.
