Artinis MediBrite
CE-certified portable fNIRS for clinical research — EU MDR compliant, MHRA registered, and designed for fast ethical approval.

CE-Certified Clinical fNIRS for Any Setting
The MediBrite is the first portable European NIRS device certified under EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR 2017/745) and MHRA registered. Meeting regulatory requirements for use in clinical settings helps achieve ethical approval more quickly, so clinical studies can begin without regulatory time loss.
Lightweight at under 200 g and fully wireless, the MediBrite can be used not only during stationary experiments but also during movement and outside traditional clinical settings. It measures infrared absorption changes from up to 27 channels to calculate relative concentration changes in O₂Hb and HHb using the modified Lambert-Beer Law.
Available in Two Variants
The MediBrite C features optodes that can be placed in three different heights to enable measurements from any cortical region. The optode height is easily adjusted to optimise skin contact for comfortable measurements across any cortical brain area.
The MediBrite S is designed for sensitive subjects, such as infants and the elderly, with soft and flat optode tips for gentle, safe contact on sensitive skin.
Key Features
Multi-power gain control to regulate light output, ambient light protection, and short separation channel options all help ensure reliable, high-quality data for clinical studies regardless of measurement location.

FAQ
What regulatory certifications does the MediBrite hold?
The MediBrite is certified according to EU Medical Device Regulation (EU MDR 2017/745) and is MHRA registered in the UK. Artinis Medical Systems also holds ISO 13485:2016 certification for its quality management system. These certifications facilitate ethical approval for clinical research studies.
What is the difference between the MediBrite C and MediBrite S?
The MediBrite C has optodes that can be positioned at three different heights to measure from any cortical region, making it suitable for a broad range of adult studies. The MediBrite S uses soft, flat optode tips designed for sensitive subjects such as infants and the elderly, prioritising gentle skin contact.
How many channels does the MediBrite support?
The MediBrite supports up to 27 channels for functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS) measurements from any cortical brain area.
What software is compatible with the MediBrite?
The MediBrite is compatible with OxySoft, Artinis's proprietary NIRS recording and analysis software, as well as Brite Connect for data acquisition.
Is the MediBrite suitable for paediatric and geriatric populations?
