Artinis BabyBrite
Portable fNIRS system for infants — biocompatible soft optodes, fast setup, and hyperscanning support across all ages.

fNIRS Designed for Infants
The BabyBrite is an optimised version of the Brite, specifically designed to provide maximum comfort to young infants. Flat optode tips and soft optode holders crafted from biocompatible materials ensure extra-safe, gentle skin contact. The soft-click principle enables a fast and easy setup while allowing hair to be moved aside easily.
The BabyBrite measures oxy-, deoxy-, and total haemoglobin concentration changes from any cortical brain area. Its portable and wearable design allows for measurements in common infant research settings — from developmental neuroscience labs to clinical environments.
Key Features
High data quality is maintained through the improved Brite platform architecture. Hyperscanning is possible across all ages, allowing simultaneous measurements in infant–caregiver dyads. The system pairs with OxySoft and Brite Connect for seamless data acquisition and analysis.

FAQ
Why is the BabyBrite suitable for infants?
The BabyBrite uses flat optode tips and soft optode holders made from biocompatible materials, ensuring safe and gentle contact on babies' sensitive skin. The soft-click assembly principle minimises setup time and allows hair to be moved aside easily during application.
Can the BabyBrite be used for hyperscanning?
Yes. The BabyBrite supports hyperscanning across all ages, enabling simultaneous fNIRS measurements — for example, in infant–caregiver dyad studies.
What software does the BabyBrite use?
The BabyBrite is compatible with OxySoft for NIRS recording and analysis, and with Brite Connect for data acquisition and device management.
Is the BabyBrite portable?
Yes. The BabyBrite is fully portable and wearable, optimised for the flexibility required in infant research settings both inside and outside the lab.
What measurements does the BabyBrite provide?
It measures relative concentration changes in oxy-haemoglobin (O₂Hb), deoxy-haemoglobin (HHb), and total haemoglobin from any cortical brain region using fNIRS.
