ibidi µ-Slide 2 Well Ph+
Two wells with 5.1 cm² of growth area and 1.5 ml each, on a #1.5 polymer coverslip bottom. The Ph+ part is an intermediate plate that suppresses the meniscus, and the meniscus is what ruins phase contrast in an ordinary open well. For phase contrast on a chambered slide, this is the one to buy.

What is the µ-Slide 2 Well Ph+?
A two-chamber slide with phenol red-free (Ph+) formulation designed for live-cell fluorescence imaging without red-background interference. Each chamber holds 800 microliters, supporting extended culture and comparative experimental designs. The spacious geometry enables high-resolution microscopy while maintaining optical clarity across multiple imaging modalities.
The µ-Slide 2 Well Ph+ combines large chamber volume with phenol red-free chemistry, optimizing live-cell assays where fluorescence sensitivity is critical.
Key Features
- 2 independent wells – 800 µL per well for extended live imaging
- Phenol red-free formulation – Minimizes background autofluorescence
- Large volume capacity – Supports perfusion, extended cultures, and high cell densities
- Optical quality – #1.5 Polymer or Glass Coverslip bottom
- Flexible surface options – ibiTreat, Untreated, and specialized coatings available

What does Ph+ actually mean?
An intermediate plate that suppresses the meniscus. The meniscus is what interferes with the phase contrast effect in a standard open well, so removing it is what makes phase contrast usable right across the well. It has nothing to do with phenol red or with pH.
Is it compatible with high-resolution microscopy?
Yes. The #1.5 ibidi Polymer Coverslip bottom has low autofluorescence and low birefringence, and it handles widefield fluorescence, confocal, phase contrast and DIC. For TIRF, single molecule detection and super-resolution, buy the Glass Bottom version instead.
Is it sterile and ready to use?
Yes. Sterilized and individually wrapped
Is local support available in Israel?
Yes. NBT is the ibidi distributor in Israel
Is it suitable for live-cell imaging?
Yes. Pair it with an ibidi Stage Top Incubator for CO2 and temperature control and it will run long term live cell imaging.
